The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) produced a process evaluation on the eight reentry courts started under the Reentry Court Innitiaitive (RCI)of 2000. It’s interesting to note that RCI standards that were promulgated in 2000, and delineated in this evaluation (see page 4) are the very same standards that are used in the 2010 BJA Reentry Court Solicitation, under Section 201 of the “Second Chance Act” and that a number of Reentry Courts started under the RCI are still very much alive [Reentry Courts Process Evaluation (Phase 1), Final Report].
